People are magical.

Deeply complex. Brilliant. Complicated. Annoying. Wise. Amazing. Surprising. Unexpected.

For me, working with people is the ultimate rush. It’s what I love to do, it’s my passion. I stumbled upon it when I was in my mid-thirties, going through a divorce, moving to a new continent. My life was upside down, tumultuous and uncertain. Little did I know that it was the beginning of living my dream.

Many of my clients today are women in their mid-thirties. It’s a crucial and decisive stage in a person’s life: The choices you make here will determine the person you will become and the life you’ll live in the future.

It can seem like an early midlife crisis.

A yearning for your life to be meaningful.

A quest to find out who you are destined to be.

Inherently you know that you are meant to be something great – you knew it all along. Yet, you still have to find it and nobody is leading the way. For the first time you realize that your life is up to you. You have to take responsibility for your dream. You have to find what it is you love doing and pursue it, otherwise it will simply vanish.

This can be a time of tremendous change, doubt and anxiety. All of a sudden, every life choice is put to the test and a deep frustration over your place in the world is setting in. You may realize that you have taken your professional life into a direction that does not interest you. You wonder if all those years in college were for nothing and whether you should go back to school and study something else. Maybe you are in a relationship that seems dissatisfying. Or, you are still looking to find your life partner.

Whatever your situation, here is a tip: Look for what you are most afraid of. It often leads you to where you really want to be. Try out and experience, dabble in stuff, toss it out the window. Try out some more until you find something that you are willing to do 24 hours every day.

This a time of truth and rebirth. The questions you ask yourself now are relevant. Take them to heart. Try to avoid obligations, personal and financial. They won’t give you the time to pursue your passion. Make your adjustments. Take your time. Dare to be you.

Thank you for reading.
