They then just as quickly purge their new ‘BFF’ and move on…particularly if a man comes into their life. Let’s just be honest with ourselves – feminism has not been a net positive. Sure, 1st wave and 2nd wave, but since then, it’s all garbage and has pitted us against men and made us miserable. But we do it to ourselves. If we really DO what to take responsibility for our happiness, it’s time to stop drinking the ‘women are perfect, women are above criticism, women are always victims, women can and should have it all’ kool-aid. Be better; better friends, better mother’s, better partners. Create your own story and version of happiness in your life, not some unattainable media BS version, so faux-tough girl empty crap. Admit we need our men. Admit we might love to raise kids, admit we have made ourselves pretty damn unapproachable and unattractive to the opposite sex. Revel in being a FEMALE. There is true power in it. In short – cut the crap and grow up and get over ourselves: that would be true female empowerment it seems to me. Want to be an engineer? Stop whiny about patriarchy and MAKE IT HAPPEN. Want to be a mother and raise amazing kids? DO IT and be proud. Want to make your man happy so he’s happy with you? GO FOR IT. Be feminine. And cut all the rest of the bullsh*t. We’ve had enough of it for decades now.
